Etude of Memories

One of my hobbies is singing. And, the most wonderful part of it is not just hitting the notes, but the way I am being connected to the songs. It's like in every lyrics and melodies of the song, I am being in trance with the memories and experiences I had/have/ will have in my life.

After watching the movie "Architecture 101" (sounds cheesy), I really appreciate this song called "기억의 습작". For those who haven't watched the movie, the story is about a girl who looked for her first love. She searched for him so he could build the house that he promised when they were still studying. You will know what happened to them when you watch the movie. So that's why, recently, every time I go to Noraebang (노래방), the term for videoke or singing room here in korea, I sing this. How is it connected to me? Read the words.

"All of us have our first love... sometimes, it doesn't happen as we want to, but first love never die."

Here's the lyrics of the song.

TRANSLATION

Now you say you can’t leave this
With an empty laughter, you lie on my shoulders
Even though you closed your eyes
You can speak
Your sad eyes go into my heart/mind/thought (sorry, don’t know which it is… kind of like all)
Makes it hurt

Tell me
About your heart “thought”
If I can only go into it
However much my thoughtless appearance
It already left, if I may be

Many days pass and your “mind” gets tired
In my “heart” your memories faint
Come back searching for it, then I may remember
My future has grown too big to remember those dreams
Will my ever-increasing forgetting memories be remembered

Into your “mind”
If I can only go into it
However much my thoughless appearance
It already left, if I may be

Many days pass and your “mind” gets tired
In my “heart” your memories faint
Come back searching for it, then I may remember
My future has grown too big to remember those dreams
Will my ever-increasing forgetting memories be remember
